You are warmly invited to come and sing two exclusive new arrangements of “Blinded By Your Grace” (Stormzy) and “Daddy” (Coldplay) in the most beautiful setting of the VOCES8 Centre.

These songs – both sensitive and uplifting – will be taught by Jim Hawkins, a successful and experienced Choral Director, Arranger & Producer.  You can expect a wonderful time of learning and exploring new music and harmony, and come away with enhanced skills and ideas to bring back to your regular singing.

The choir director

Jim has produced music with a wide array of choirs including, Johns’ Boys *BGT Semi-Finalists 2023*, The Royal Chapel Choir (2023), The ENO singers (2023), NHS Voices of Care & Captain Sir Tom Moore (2020), The Military Wives Choir, The Missing People Choir (BGT Finalists 2017), The Gamesmaker Choir, Rock Choir and many more.

The VOCES8 Centre is a most beautiful venue in the City of London reknowned for its incredible acoustic for vocal music, and it will be an absolute treat to sing in.

Parking

Gresham Street and surrounding streets are ‘pay and display’ on Saturdays until 11am, and then free on single yellow lines. There is an NCP car park nearby at the Barbican. There are Disabled Parking Bays directly outside the VOCES8 Centre next to the taxi halt, and a few further along the street.

Public transport

The centre is well served by bus and tube, and is within walking distance of Barbican, Bank and Mansion House stations.

Arrival and registration

Please arrive from 10am to register and settle in. There will be teas and coffees being served and a place to store your bags and coats. Don’t forget to bring a bottle of water with you.

Music

We will provide printed music scores at the event, plus access to online scores a few days prior to the event. If you require large type scores, please let us know by emailing [email protected] at least 48 hours before the event starts. They will be yours to keep, so don’t forget to bring a pencil/pens to mark notes on your scores!

Lunch

Our lunch break will be from 12:30pm to 1:30pm, where you will be free to explore the local pubs and eateries or bring a packed lunch.
